History

The present church and parsonage were built in 1886 as a school / chapel (with altar and sanctuary which could be curtained off), rooms for the priest being attached. It was a mission station served by curates from Loch Leven-side until 1896 when Bishop Chinnery-Haldane made it a Dependant Congregation of St John's, Oban.

The schoolmaster and lay reader was Duncan McIntyre, who had previously been for many years at Arpafeelie in the Black Isle, under Dean Pressley- Smith's father, and he took regular services with visiting priests officiating when possible, usually in the summer months.

The buildings were put in order in the 1960's when a resident priest took the services. Various items were moved here in 1976 when St Mary's, Connel closed.

Today

The congregation is very small, but faithfully gathers once a month for worship. All its affairs are run from St John's Cathedral, Oban.
