History

The incumbent of St Paul's, Rothesay, held occasional services in the Royal Hotel in Tighnabruaich, but these were discontinued when the steamer service stopped. Records of these services are held at St Paul's, Rothesay

A new mission was founded by the then Rector of Dunoon, The Revd. Allan MacLean, in 1984. The first service was held on Easter Day that year, in Kyles Parish Church, with the Bishop as celebrant. Since then services have been held regularly in the parish church.

The congregation is now known as St Martin's Congregation Tighnabruaich, the Daughter Church of Holy Trinity, Dunoon.
